The story of 99 red balloons floating towards the horizon performed by the band @Nena was originally inspired by balloons raising over the Berlin Wall during the era of Cold War in the 1980s. In the song the balloons were mistaken for U.F.O.s what led to a quick escalation and eventually the end of the world. If you need a reminder of the lyrics or just a catchy tune ;) :  (D) or (E)
Given the present situation on our shrinking planet we think this topic is unfortunately very up to date. And since we all know that the new president of the most powerful military force in the world is not much of a reader (he has no time of course!) we made a simple picture just to remind him of that story…

Huge thanks to the @ViennaSlackliners for helping me in realizing this idea with their skills – you are awesome. And if you never had the chance to carry a 70 pound steel bottle with balloon gas along with loads of other gear up a mountain don’t bother – we have done that for you and it’s not necessary to repeat ;)

–> And if you wonder… we used the most ecological natural latex balloons we could get, removed all of them afterwards and left no traces behind.
